Okay, you’ve just met the fighter of your dreams. Gentlemen, maybe it’s Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate or Julianna Pena that does it for you. Ladies, you have a much broader range, so use your imagination. Let’s take this a little further — what if you were able to actually date one of them, and if not them, a fighter a little further down the totem pole?
Heck, it’s Valentine’s Day, so here are 10 reasons why you should date a fighter.
10. Free trainer: Let’s face it, trainers at gyms can be expensive, but if you’re with a fighter, I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to assist you.
9. Loyal, respectful: Martial arts teaches discipline and respect, thus giving you someone you can trust. (Hopefully)
8. Constantly training: No need to spy on your honey; they’re probably at one of their gyms training. No time for frolicking or other affairs.

7. In shape: Now, we know what you care about is just the inside of a person, but unless we’re talking Roy “Big Country” Nelson, your boo bear is always going to be in summertime shape.
6. Know how to put in work: You won’t have to worry about a lousy work ethic. Fighters know when and where to put in work, whether for you or your needs.
5. Protection: No brainer here, how many ordinary people want to take on a professional fighter? You’d probably feel safe in any dark alley with your valentine by your side.
4. Insomniac: Having trouble sleeping? Don’t worry, before heading home a good ol’ guillotine will help put you to sleep and have you counting sheep in no time.

Okay, you’ve made it to the top 3. You dated a fighter, were a match, and are now happily married like Cain Velasquez or Anderson Silva. Here’s where the magic happens…
3. Able to switch positions quickly: Transitions are key in MMA, with fighters always wanting to get to a more “dominant” position. Well, for the newlyweds, switching different positions in any situation would not be a problem.
2. Have a lot of endurance: Want to go on a long hike? Maybe whale watching? How about a decathlon? Honeymoon? Don’t worry, you’re covered for the long haul in any situation with a fighter. They train for a 25-minute fight, trying to accomplish any “endurance” goal shouldn’t be of concern.
And the number one reason to date an MMA fighter is…
1. Rear naked choke: It’s hard to get out of one these if arms are sunken in… but for two lovebirds, this name of one of the most popular moves in MMA might suggest a very different definition.
