Slutwalks have been taking place around the world as women stand up to take back their streets and warn “my clothes are not my consent.” The Amber Rose Slut Walk is tracking to be the largest the U.S. has ever seen due to Rose’s massive following of over 7.7 million instagram followers and her 13 million followers across all social media.
Amber Rose has the support of the founder of the first Slut Walk, Heather Jarvis who told Think Progress: “With her status, she’s using it to really create some amazing conversations. It’s all we’ve really ever wanted. When we first organized it in 2011, it was in our mind a one-off event in Toronto, speaking to a Toronto context. We never envisioned that it would go anywhere beyond that even in our own city.”
The Amber Rose SlutWalk is truly an awareness day festival filled with all types of cool activities, vendors, speakers, panelist, performances, live DJ, sign-making, educational booths, photo booths, HIV testing by AHF.org and much more. Thousands of people across gender, sex, race, age, class, education, profession, will gather for an unforgettable experience. “I deal with a lot of equality issues in my own life, and I wanted to make a difference any way I can,” Amber Rose told MTV News at a press conference on Friday (. “So basically me and my team put our blood, sweat and tears into developing our own SlutWalk to bring awareness to what’s going on.”
