It’s been confirmed that Brit singer Lily Allen’s third album is definitely titled “Sheezus,” and what’s better is that she used the albums title track to diss everyone from Queen B to Lady Gaga.
The chorus is really where Allen starts her attack, with lines like, “Ri-ri isn’t scared of Katy Perry’s roaring/Queen B’s gone back to the drawing, “ and “We’re all watching Gaga lol and ahaha/Dying for the art so really she’s a martyr.” In laughing at Gaga as she dies for her art, Allen’s seemingly soft jabs could actually be taken quite offensively, and what surprises us most is that she’s doing this when she knows she’s not on any of the artists’ levels of fame.

The track’s diss is reminiscent of the Kendrick Lamar diss on Big Sean’s “Control”. A slightly less famous, maybe up-and-coming performer blasts those who have already made it, and while Kendrick has called himself the “King,” Allen does practically the same in this song when she sings, “Second best will never cut it for the divas/Give me that crown bitch, I wanna be Sheezus.”
And is she poking fun at Kanye West’s Yeezus album, or just taking the title twist as her own? Everyone knows no one loves Kanye more than Kanye, so maybe Allen is just showing the same love for herself?

While the video was posted on Tuesday, it’s garnered less than 19,000 views, but did score a few mentions on Billboard and Time. We’re guessing that it won’t be long before one of the “divas” mentioned in Allen’s song responds.
